Our Pastors
Pastor Wes Neal has been serving as Pastor of Santee United Methodist Church for seven years. He has been married for 10 years to Jerusha, and is father to two children, Mercy (age 7) and Josiah (age 5).
Prior to coming to SUMC, Pastor Wes served a youth pastor in Fullerton, as a missionary in Northeast India, and as a student at Princeton Theological Seminary. He works to share the Gospel through ministry with churches in Mexico, weekly chapel time at Sunshine Place, and through an initiative to develop Daisy House - a center for community ministry in Santee.
In addition to his ministry at the church, Wes coordinates the Santee Food Bank and grows vegetables in the community garden near the polo barn. Whenever he can he loves hiking and biking in the desert and Mission Trails Park.
Pastor Diane Davis is the Minister of Discipleship. She is an ordained permanent Deacon in the United Methodist Church and has a Masters in Religious Education from Claremont Theological School. Her passion is in connecting the church to the community around it. Over the past 20 years of ministry in the southern California she has developed a preschool, built strong programs for children and youth and has established opportunities for nurture and support in Adult Ministries.
Prior to becoming a minister in the United Methodist Church, Diane worked as a dental hygienist. She keeps her hygiene license up-to-date in order to work in various dental outreach and mission programs.
Diane was born and raised in Lemon Grove, California. She currently lives in El Cajon with her dog Molly. She enjoys reading, walking on the beach, scrapbooking and traveling.
