Mission and Service

The Book of Acts records the event of Jesus’ ascension into heaven. As the disciples looked up into the heavens, angels appeared and asked, “why are you looking up?”  This passage reminds us that, although we may “look up” to heaven to find God and Christ, God and Christ are also here, in the present. We are also called to be God’s heart and Christ’s hands on earth. A life of faith is not about individual salvation and waiting for some reward in heaven. It’s about a life of devoted and committed service to God and others. Santee United Methodist Church seeks to care for the least, the lost, and the lonely in a variety of ways.
